With its 41 floors and more than 200 meters high, after 11 years since the green light for construction, the Turin Region Skyscraper will finally be able to open from June 2022. The building, designed by Architect Fuksas and located in an area of the former Fiat Avio in Turin's Nizza Millefonti district, not far from the Lingotto exhibition center, will accommodate 2,500 employees of the Piedmont Region.
The skyscraper, the third tallest in Italy after the 231-meter Unicredit Tower in Milan (of which 152 of body and 79 of spire) and the 209.20-meter Isozaki (Allianz) Tower, also in Milan, will have 42 floors, two of which will be underground: 41 will be used for office space, while the penthouse of the 43rd floor (located at a height of about 200 m) will host a rooftop forest accessible to the public that will in fact constitute the highest viewing platform among those found in any Italian skyscraper.
The Tower has a square plan with a side of 45 m and is enclosed by an imposing double-skin glazed facade. The entrance hall is characterized by a large full-height void within which are placed transverse blades with different inclinations that refract light, creating a kaleidoscopic play of light. The imposing east facade is therefore autonomous from the rest of the building, constituting a structural element of great significance and complexity. Within this impressive project we could see our participation through the supply of a series of our products, intended for the different internal areas of the tower. In fact, from 2014 until 2021, we have produced and supplied hundreds of artifacts such as diffusers, flow regulators, silencers, fire dampers, and return air grilles, which in the evolution of the construction have then been progressively installed on different floors of the building. In particular, more than 3,000 linear diffusers of our DLF model were supplied, which were then installed on the ceiling ceilings in the numerous offices.
To support the correct sizing of our products, we carried out a series of fluid dynamic analyses with CFD software, the results of which were provided by our technical department through several dedicated technical reports:
Another diffuser model, used for diffusion within the full-height zones defined as “Winter Garden,” is our multi-nozzle BUGR series model:
The commitment on our part has been to be able to supply in a very difficult period for everyone quality products within tight deadlines, giving the order the highest priority.
